The Adams Teen Scene

Like elsewhere in Massachusetts, school gymnasiums and high school auditoriums were typically where teen dances and concerts happened in towns without dedicated music clubs. Teens would hire a live band, a DJ, or both to play for the student body. The West Adams Lebanese Social Club was a real social venue where teen dances with live or DJ’d music occurred — likely a major community-based music/dance space for youth and families. Also, the North Adams Elks Lodge held regular dances for teens, giving them the opportunity to socialise.

At least one Battle Of The Bands was held at the Adams Memorial High School.

Among the popular groups of Adams were: Arc Royals , Assassins , Avengers , Continentals , Corduroys , Crazy Beatles , Crusaders , Heaven's Devils , Jaguars , Journey's End , Journeymen , Krosswinds , Mark V , Marksmen , Mustangs , Quarrymen , Sound Effects , Stetson Court , Travelons , Uni-Tones , Van-Dels , Vanguards , Venturas , Villagers , Wind & The Rain .
